Moy Park saves £400K a year with Centrica Business Solutions

Moy Park, a leading European poultry producer and Northern Ireland's largest private sector business, faced a challenge at its Craigavon facility. The site required a solution to handle its high power and steam demands while improving energy efficiency and reducing its carbon output as part of a wider sustainability initiative. Centrica Business Solutions was engaged to address this challenge with a new energy solution.

Centrica Business Solutions implemented a highly efficient Combined Heat and Power (CHP) generator. This solution provides the site with power, hot water, and steam, and was fully funded and managed by Centrica. The project delivers substantial results: the CHP unit generates 18,300 MWh annually, saves Moy Park over £400,000 in operating costs each year, and offsets 1,000 tonnes of CO2.
