British Army cuts 700 tCO2e annually with Centrica Business Solutions

The British Army sought to increase its use of renewable energy across its estate to support its ambition of achieving Net Zero by 2050. Centrica Business Solutions was engaged to help address this challenge through the implementation of a solar solution.

Centrica Business Solutions constructed a 2.3MW solar farm comprised of over 4,000 panels at the Defence School of Transport in Leconfield. This installation is the first of four pilot sites and is predicted to supply one third of the site's electricity needs. The project delivers an annual carbon reduction of 700 tCO2e and £1 million in efficiency savings, which will be reinvested into Army infrastructure. Centrica Business Solutions helped the Army create a replicable template for major carbon reduction.
