Alton Towers Resort, a major theme park and resort with hotels and a large waterpark, faced a significant energy challenge in heating and powering its extensive facilities. To address this, they partnered with Centrica Business Solutions to implement a Combined Heat and Power (CHP) solution to reduce energy costs and improve sustainability.

Centrica Business Solutions installed an 850 kWh CHP unit on-site, acting as the manufacturer, installer, and service provider. This solution achieved an 80% energy efficiency rate and reduced the resort's energy costs by 12% per annum. The on-site generation also minimized transmission loss and provided capacity for future energy demand.
