A Centreon Case Study
The Departmental council of Haut-Rhin, a French public-sector organization responsible for social welfare, schools, roads, and other local services, needed to replace multiple hardware-specific monitoring platforms with a single centralized solution. As its IT environment expanded, the team wanted better visibility into business applications, improved service availability, and a way to rationalize production resources. Centreon EMS was chosen to help provide this unified monitoring approach.
Centreon implemented a centralized, application-oriented monitoring platform covering more than 1,000 hosts and 12,500 services, including servers, storage, web services, business applications, and operational jobs. With Centreon, the council industrialized monitoring processes, gained a single point of entry and better visibility, and saved an average of 30 minutes per day per operator on incident management. The Departmental council of Haut-Rhin also began using Centreon MAP and other Centreon modules to support communication with business users and management.
