Connectivity pioneer RNP uses Centreon to provide high availability, secure networking to Brazil’s academic and research institutions

Rede Nacional de Ensino e Pesquisa (RNP), Brazil’s national research and education network, needed a flexible way to monitor thousands of geographically dispersed services and hosts across the country while supporting local teams, the NOC, and collaboration between ITOps and SecOps. To meet this challenge, RNP turned to Centreon IT Edition for unified visibility into its national and state academic network links, data center infrastructure, and client institution services.

With Centreon, RNP deployed a decentralized monitoring architecture with 34 servers across Brazil’s 27 states, using Plugin Packs, Stream Connectors, dashboards, and event correlation to improve issue prioritization and root-cause analysis. The result was better SLA compliance, faster MTTR, more effective operations, and earlier detection of security-related incidents, helping RNP manage more than 14,102 services and 2,882 hosts more efficiently.
