Case Study: Clermont Auvergne Métropole improves public service delivery with Centreon

A Centreon Case Study

Preview of the Clermont Auvergne Métropole Case Study

Centralized Monitoring Contributes to Improving the Delivery of Public Services in a Metropolitan Area

Clermont Auvergne Métropole, a large metropolitan authority in central France, needed to unify IT monitoring across a highly heterogeneous, geographically distributed environment supporting 1,500 municipal staff and public services for more than 230,000 residents. The organization wanted to pool IT resources for the metropolis and the City of Clermont-Ferrand, improve service quality, and reduce the cost and footprint of IT operations. Centreon provided the centralized monitoring platform, including Centreon EMS, Centreon ODS, and Plugin Packs.

With Centreon, Clermont Auvergne Métropole deployed a unified monitoring solution covering 400 sites and two data centers, with visibility across infrastructure, virtualized environments, storage, security, and business applications. The result was lower monitoring maintenance costs, faster time-to-monitoring, improved visibility across the IT landscape, and quicker incident response. The deployment currently monitors about 1,000 hosts and 6,000 services, with plans to reach 1,500 hosts and 10,000 services at full scale.
