A CentralSquare Technologies Case Study
St. Charles County, MO, one of Missouri’s fastest-growing counties (about 386,000 residents across 592 square miles), faced rising 911 demands driven by population growth and changing technology—more than 90% of calls now come from cell phones—and needed a way to manage very high call volumes, multiple agencies/jurisdictions (11 fire departments, ambulance, police, sheriff, park rangers), and to reliably assign the closest unit and keep field responders connected in real time.
CentralSquare Technologies implemented CAD Enterprise (formerly Inform CAD) along with Mobile Enterprise and Records Enterprise to provide a highly configurable, interoperable CAD with integrated mapping, Unit Swap and mobile access in frontline vehicles. The system supports 38 dispatchers handling roughly 50,000 fire/EMS and 90,000 law-enforcement calls annually, tracks about 120 mobile units, and enables automatic closest-unit assignment across jurisdictions—improving response times, ensuring accurate field information, and contributing directly to lives saved.
