The City of Marietta, Georgia, a large Atlanta suburb that mails about 44,000 utility bills each month, faced a heavy manual burden for addressing, sorting and handling returned mail while needing to meet USPS Full-Service Intelligent Mail requirements. To modernize operations and qualify for automation discounts, the City of Marietta adopted CentralSquare Technologies’ Data Quality Suite (DQS).
CentralSquare Technologies’ DQS automated sorting, duplicate removal, address verification and CASS reporting (using Melissa Data APIs), while preserving the city’s existing workflows. The result: sorting time dropped from nearly two hours to about 30–40 minutes, undeliverable mail is identified and corrected before mailing, CASS reports can be run by any staff member, and the city is better positioned to retain USPS discounts and lower postage costs.
