City of Dallas - Customer Case Study

The City of Dallas faced an aging, separate Police and Fire CAD environment (LINC, in use since 1978) that was costly to maintain and lacked interoperability across departments and the region. Seeking a modern, client-server solution to support Police, Fire, Public Works and other city services, the City selected CentralSquare Technologies’ CAD Enterprise (with Mobile Enterprise) to replace the legacy systems.

CentralSquare Technologies implemented CAD Enterprise to unify Police and Fire dispatch, integrate GIS and AVL for routing-based unit recommendations (Unit Swap), add dispatcher shortcuts, and enable automated inter-departmental incident sharing and duplicate-call detection. The solution now serves 385 sq. miles and a metro population of about 3 million with roughly 1.2 million annual calls, improving response times by recommending the closest available units, expanding data sharing across agencies and jurisdictions, and streamlining dispatch workflows.
