City of Austin - Customer Case Study

The City of Austin struggled with fragmented public-safety operations across multiple agencies (Austin Police, Austin Fire, Austin-Travis County EMS, Travis County Sheriff, Austin DOT, and Austin Airport) that were using two separate CAD systems and operating as data silos. To create an interoperable, configurable dispatch environment, the City of Austin selected CentralSquare Technologies and its CAD Enterprise and Mobile Enterprise solutions.

CentralSquare Technologies implemented a shared CAD Enterprise platform with Mobile Enterprise in the field (nearly 2,000 mobile units), Esri-based mapping, and traffic-system integration to enable cross-agency dispatch and real-time situational awareness. The deployment improved coordination and responder safety, helped the combined center handle a 150% surge in calls while maintaining a 97.96% answer rate under 10 seconds, reduced response times by up to 1.5 minutes via traffic integration, and supports more than 100 dispatcher seats and 1.7 million annual calls.
