A CentralSquare Technologies Case Study
Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, part of a four-PSAP regional communications group in the Greater Boulder area, faced an aging COBOL-based CAD that was inflexible, lacked dynamic response plans, and provided mobile data access to only a few agencies. With funding pressures and a desire to share costs and data across jurisdictions, the agencies issued an RFP and selected CentralSquare Technologies to provide CAD Enterprise and Mobile Enterprise (formerly Inform CAD and Inform Mobile).
CentralSquare Technologies implemented its integrated CAD and Mobile solutions across the four PSAPs, working through GIS, network, and system-hierarchy challenges, conducting phased one-day rollouts with on-site support, and enabling 21 distinct configurations to meet varied agency practices. The new system expanded mobile access and functionality, improved call taking and response coordination, and now supports a region of 751 sq. miles and about 294,567 people—handling roughly 655,000 phone calls and 366,000 CAD calls annually—so that any dispatcher can effectively work anywhere in the county.
