When the City of Coral Springs embarked on a formidable 911 dispatch system upgrade, the technology was only one part of the municipality’s success

Coral Springs faced a high-stakes upgrade when the city kept control of its 911 call management and in 2019 agreed to take over emergency communications for neighboring Coconut Creek. To merge the two networks and modernize dispatch without disrupting lifesaving service, Coral Springs partnered with CentralSquare Technologies and deployed a new instance of their ONESolution CAD as part of a broader CAD/911/RMS upgrade.

CentralSquare Technologies assisted with the CAD installation and personnel migration while Coral Springs’ IT team built a new DMZ, installed switches, servers and security controls to meet CJIS standards and created trust relationships between networks. The project achieved zero downtime during the cutover and ensured every 911 call reached the correct fire, EMS, or police terminal in real time, preserving uninterrupted emergency response.
