Case Study: Toledo Blade achieves cloud security and lower costs with CentraComm and Zscaler

A CentraComm Case Study

Preview of the Toledo Blade Case Study

Toledo Blade - Customer Case Study

The Toledo Blade, a regional news publication serving northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan, faced a major security and operations setback after a 2010 virus outbreak forced IT to re-image every employee PC and shut down publishing for two weeks. With limited budget and a strategic move away from client/server computing to the cloud, the company needed a new approach to security. On the recommendation of its IT partner, CentraComm, Toledo Blade turned to Zscaler’s cloud-based security platform.

CentraComm helped Toledo Blade implement Zscaler Security Cloud to protect its cloud-based publishing environment without adding hardware or software. The results included near-zero capital expenditure, with CapEx reduced by 10–25% over two years, and IT staff reduced from 16 employees in 2006 to 10 through reallocation of resources. Since adopting Zscaler, Toledo Blade has reported no security incidents, along with greater visibility and control over users, applications, and web activity.
