Unique Build Requirements for a Museum Project Successfully Met with a Concrete Construction Management Process

Reinforced Structures, Inc. (RSI), a Tampa-based concrete subcontractor, faced a complex, high-stakes challenge building the Salvador Dali Museum in St. Petersburg, FL — a 60,000 sq. ft., $5.2M, two-year project that required first-time use of self-consolidating concrete (SCC), extreme quality control for a pristine finish, and a structure able to withstand Florida’s ocean-front conditions and category 5 hurricanes. To support pre-construction planning, estimating and rapid change-order response, RSI used On-Screen Takeoff® from On Center Software.

On Center Software’s On-Screen Takeoff® enabled RSI to generate multiple pre-planning scenarios, streamline estimating and handle change orders expeditiously, contributing to on-time delivery and tight quality control. The result was a durable, visually flawless museum built with 10,000 yards of concrete, 1,000 tons of reinforcing steel and 18‑inch concrete walls that meet the project’s demanding performance and schedule requirements.
