A Center for Creative Leadership Case Study

Robert Wood Johnson Foundation boosts nurse leadership impact with Center for Creative Leadership, with 99% of session ratings highly relevant

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation partnered with the Center for Creative Leadership to address the need for enhanced leadership development among senior nurses, who face enormous challenges with inadequate development offerings. Their goal was to strengthen the leadership capacity of nurses aspiring to transform health and health care at local, state, and national levels.

The Center for Creative Leadership implemented its three-year, cohort-based Executive Nurse Fellows program. The results were significant, with 99% of participants finding the content highly relevant. Post-program, Fellows showed major improvements; for example, 92% of participants and 79% of their raters reported an increased ability to use feedback for change. The impact extended broadly, leading to increased leadership roles in professional associations, legislative testimony, governance bodies, and media engagements for the Fellows.
