Case Study: Aga Khan Foundation elevates women leaders with Center for Creative Leadership

A Center for Creative Leadership Case Study

Aga Khan Foundation achieves 92% satisfaction with CCL’s 6-month Women in Leadership programme

The Aga Khan Foundation (AKF), a leading global development organization, sought to elevate its emerging female leaders through a dedicated Women in Leadership (WiL) programme. Their challenge was to focus on self-development while providing sustained coaching, sponsorship, and peer support, and to create an inclusive environment by engaging stakeholders like line managers and male allies. They partnered with the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL) to design and deliver this custom program.

The Center for Creative Leadership implemented a comprehensive six-month solution featuring four core online modules on leadership identity, communication, networking, and influence. The program was bolstered by assessments, executive coaching, intermodular sessions for allies and managers, and mentorship components. Results from the CCL-facilitated program included 92% overall participant satisfaction, 100% reporting they could apply the skills to improve their impact, and alumni launching standalone initiatives to support women. The program heightened awareness of investing in female leadership and created demand for more developmental opportunities across the organization.
