Centage Helps Scale Workforce Planning for 2,400 Employees Without Losing Control

Medical Card System (MCS), a healthcare insurance company in San Juan, Puerto Rico, needed a better way to manage budgeting and workforce planning for 2,400 employees, $380 million in operating expenses, and more than 100 cost centers. Their finance team had outgrown Excel and needed a repeatable process for annual budgets, accurate fringe benefit calculations, and monthly reporting across hundreds of GL accounts, so they turned to Centage and its budgeting and planning tools.

Centage implemented a template-driven FP&A system that automated fringe benefit calculations, streamlined budget building by account, department, product, and cost center, and simplified monthly actuals imports for variance analysis and reporting. As a result, Medical Card System gained trusted monthly reports for leadership, stronger visibility into labor and departmental costs, and a planning process that can handle complex operations without manual spreadsheet work.
