A Centage Case Study
Wakeland Housing and Development Corporation is a San Diego–based nonprofit that has developed more than 7,500 affordable housing units across 53 properties in California. Because its revenue relies heavily on developer fees tied to project milestones (construction completion, financing closings, IRS Form 8609), accurately forecasting the timing and amount of cash inflows was critical — yet Wakeland was relying on cumbersome Excel pro formas that were difficult to update and rebuild whenever milestones shifted.
Wakeland adopted Centage’s cloud FP&A platform, Planning Maestro, which integrates with Microsoft Great Plains to import expenses automatically and consolidate all project and operating costs. The system lets the finance team run reliable five‑year cash flow and income statement forecasts, reforecast monthly instead of spending a week rebuilding spreadsheets, and supports a new process to track project outflows — improving forecast accuracy, visibility into cash reserves, and planning for future developments.
