Case Study: The Disabilities Trust neutralises insider threats and secures patient data with CensorNet

A CensorNet Case Study

Preview of the The Disabilities Trust Case Study

Neutralising insider threats and protecting patient data to deliver excellent care

The Disabilities Trust, a UK charity supporting around 750 people with acquired brain injury, faced significant insider threats, potential ransomware attacks, and the risk of patient data exfiltration. To quickly and affordably overhaul its protections, the organisation worked with CensorNet to deploy Web Security and Cloud Application Security (CASB) via a Security-as-a-Service approach.

CensorNet delivered an easy-to-deploy agent and policy-driven controls that began blocking risky web and cloud app activity within an hour, centrally managing browsing and app usage for the Trust’s IT team (who support over 1,000 employees). The solution prevented data exfiltration and unregulated procurement, provided granular reports used quarterly by the audit and risk committee (including counts of frontline staff attempting blocked sites), and shifted culture toward a security-first posture—enabling affordable, enterprise-grade protection and ongoing digital innovation.
