Case Study: Portland Trail Blazers achieve stronger, simpler remote-access security with CensorNet MFA

A CensorNet Case Study

Preview of the Portland Trailblazers Case Study

: Needed a simple and effective way to tighten up access from outside the networked environment as part of an organization-wide initiative to tighten security

The Portland Trailblazers, an NBA team, needed a simple, effective way to tighten external access as part of an organization-wide security initiative. To secure remote VPN and off-network logins, they selected Censornet’s MFA (deployed with partner Right! Systems) to validate users and reduce the human-factor risk of breaches.

Censornet implemented multi-factor authentication that verifies VPN logins via SMS, then email or phone if needed; about 115 users are active today with a target of 200 in the first rollout. The solution gave the Trail Blazers greater visibility into who is accessing systems and where, forced noncompliant passwords to be strengthened, reduced the risk of malicious login attempts, and delivered clear peace of mind and practical ROI for the organization.
