Case Study: King’s College London unlocks 450,000 digital assets for research, teaching and public access with CELUM

A CELUM Case Study

Preview of the King's College London Case Study

King’s College London has recovered content treasures with CELUM since 2008

King’s College London, a leading research and teaching university with a rich visual heritage, faced slow and fragmented access to its image assets due to a legacy DAM, multiple unmanaged storage locations, poor metadata and widespread duplication. To address fast turnaround needs for marketing, press and teaching materials, King’s selected CELUM as their central Digital Asset Management solution.

CELUM implemented a central DAM with LDAP access, configurable metadata (including Dublin Core), and integrations (Archios, APIs) that enabled projects like the Navigating Nightingale iPhone app, Serving Soldier and Linked Open Data for First World War photographs. The CELUM deployment consolidated 450,000 assets (5.78 TB), supported about 1,500 users with faster asset availability, reduced duplication and unlocked new research, teaching and marketing workflows.
