How the Finnish Oil and Gas Company Neste Drives Process Efficiency and Excellence with Process Mining

Neste, a Finnish oil and gas company with more than 5,000 employees and a complex supplier and logistics network, needed to raise its business process maturity and gain transparency across cross‑functional process chains. To support a cultural and technological change alongside a new SAP HANA landscape, Neste selected Celonis and its Celonis Process Mining software to visualize and analyze transactional data and drive continuous process improvement.

Celonis Process Mining was integrated with Neste’s SAP systems (implementation ramped up in mid‑2017) to provide real‑time process visualization, KPIs and root‑cause analytics that the Business Process Leadership team and Process Owners use to find improvement opportunities. The Celonis solution delivered end‑to‑end visibility of Supply‑to‑Pay and Order‑to‑Cash, enabled 100% transparency, helped identify bottlenecks, and supported measurable goals such as improved delivery accuracy, shorter invoice‑approval lead times, faster cash‑flow management and more reliable on‑time payments; pilots are now expanding Celonis use across other processes.
