Celonis Process Mining Plays an Essential Role in Navantia’s Digital Transformation

Navantia, the Spanish shipbuilding company, faced persistent digital-process challenges during its Shipyard 4.0 transformation: limited visibility into root causes across Purchases, Accounts Payable and Product Definition & Development prevented effective control and continuous improvement. To address this, Navantia worked with CONVISTA to apply Celonis Process Mining, using Celonis’ technology to analyze data from SAP ECC, SAP VIM and other systems and reveal where processes were breaking down.

Using Celonis Process Mining, the team discovered a high percentage of manual purchase‑order changes, identified approval‑stage bottlenecks in Accounts Payable, and used PI compliance to compare theoretical vs. actual flows. The Celonis-powered project enabled Navantia to answer root‑cause questions, implement targeted fixes, reduce re‑work and approval delays, and strengthen compliance, controls and auditability—delivering clearer process transparency and more effective operational improvements.
