Buffalo Exchange and Celerant Customize POS To Support Buy Sell Retail

Buffalo Exchange, a national buy/sell/trade apparel retailer, faced an accounting and operational crisis as each store handled 25,000+ unique, fast‑turning items with manual calculators and cash registers. Existing POS solutions couldn’t support its mix of traditional sales, trades and cash buys, unique SKUs, state compliance requirements, or the need to monitor cash transactions for employee theft; an earlier custom system proved unscalable.

Celerant Command Retail was customized to provide a single, real‑time platform (POS, CRM, e‑commerce, inventory/ERP and fulfillment) that reliably records buy/sell/trade transactions and links each purchase to employees and customer records. The rollout to all 45 stores centralized accounting and reporting, improved compliance and theft detection, enabled CRM-driven marketing, supported five new locations without adding accounting staff, and delivered operational savings (including $300,000 saved in two years from streamlined clock‑in/payroll).
