Fluvius and Cegeka are building a future-proof data platform for digital meter data

The Flemish grid company Fluvius faced the challenge of managing an exponential increase in energy data from the rollout of digital meters, while also needing to support new, complex services like energy sharing. To meet political and consumer expectations, they sought a scalable cloud data platform and selected vendor Cegeka to build a Metering Data Calculation Engine (MDCE).

Cegeka implemented a future-proof data platform using Microsoft Azure Cloud, Azure Databricks, and Oracle Exadata. This agile project delivery resulted in a successful and award-winning rollout, handling 5.3 GB of meter data daily. The solution provides a secure, centralized foundation for Fluvius to make data available to multiple parties, enabling smarter energy use for consumers and supporting the company's ongoing data-driven transformation.
