Hendricks Regional Health is a non-profit community health system with four outpatient clinics offering physical, occupational and speech therapy (staffing includes 30 physical therapists, 2 PTAs and 6 OTs). Before 2011 the outpatient departments relied on dictation/transcription, paper charting, clinic-specific calendars and manual insurance processes, leading to scheduling and documentation inefficiencies, errors and low productivity.

They implemented Cedaron’s APTA Connect EMR and scheduling solution to centralize scheduling, enable paperless documentation, collect outcomes, generate productivity analytics and interface with Meditech billing. The system added customizable documentation templates, documentation reminders, alerts for authorizations and missing notes, and immediate insurance-rule updates—giving staff easy access to schedules, notes, authorizations and reports across clinics, streamlining workflow, improving compliance and reducing billing issues.
