Kalido, a Burlington, MA–based data warehouse software company founded in 2003, needed a reliable way to hire top-quality people that matched its core values. Faced with extreme variability in candidate potential and little insight from CVs alone, Kalido sought objective tools to consistently identify high performers.
Working with CEB Talent Assessment, Kalido validated and implemented ability tests (which showed a 0.65 correlation with programmer performance), added the OPQ personality assessment, trained hiring managers in competency-based interviewing, and built role competency profiles with a candidate “fit” score. The result: stronger hiring decisions, widespread internal buy-in, a more consistent employer brand, and objective assessment embedded in the company culture.
