The Police Digital Service faced the challenge of modernizing public access to policing across England and Wales. Their existing channels were inconvenient, leading to unreported crimes, and their digital infrastructure was unreliable and unable to support a national, multi-force platform. CDS was engaged to build and manage the Single Online Home platform to serve as a new digital front door.
CDS re-architected the live platform for national multi-tenancy and migrated it to Azure with zero downtime, saving £200k per year. They deployed the world's first public-sector Cloudflare Zero Trust implementation, mitigating approximately 500 million security events annually while sustaining 100% uptime for three years. The solution successfully onboarded 41 police forces, handles 450 million monthly requests, and has evolved to include two-way communication between the public and officers.
