JCB, a pioneering Japanese credit card company founded in 1961, faced a sudden termination of its China ISP and decided to relocate its web server to Japan. The move raised major concerns about internet latency, low availability for Chinese users, and compliance with China’s regulatory and licensing requirements (ICP).

JCB adopted KDDI/CDNetworks’ KDDI Global Content Accelerator—using Content Acceleration and China Acceleration services and distributed edge servers across China—to cache static content, accelerate dynamic traffic, and optimize middle‑mile protocols.
