Vaillant Group, a global leader in HVAC technology with about 13,000 employees and roughly €2.4 billion in annual sales, launched a “Controlling Excellence” program to harmonize processes and modernize multi-year planning. Faced with an outdated planning tool, fragmented Excel-based solutions, and a requirement for high functionality, direct administration by the planning team, and a fast turnaround, the company needed a future-proof solution that fit its SAP-dominated IT landscape.

Vaillant chose CCH Tagetik, fully integrated into its SAP HANA/BW environment without additional interfaces and implemented in four months using agile methods and partner pmOne. The solution enabled driver-based planning, captured Vaillant’s complex, organization-driven planning rules, linked product roadmaps and market-research data, and made reporting faster and more accurate. Results included a much more detailed business plan, budget figures closer to targets, planning-team self-administration, and plans to expand Tagetik’s use across forecasting, cash flow and consolidation.
