A CCH Tagetik Case Study
St. Galler Kantonalbank, a Swiss universal bank founded in 1868 and publicly listed since 2001, expanded through acquisitions and new subsidiaries in Zürich, Geneva and Munich. That growth — plus the addition of the euro and a sub-holding structure — exposed the limits of an Excel-based consolidation process and drove the need for a unified, low‑customization consolidation and reporting solution with strong Excel integration that could also serve financial controlling.
The bank selected Tagetik (via pmOne) and, together with consultant Alper & Schetter, implemented a standardized consolidation, reporting and budgeting solution from March to September 2010 for 17 users and connected auditors. Built-in workflows, controls and Microsoft/Excel integration delivered transparent, traceable processes, higher user acceptance, more efficient reporting and stronger internal controls — reducing audit stress and improving overall financial close performance.
