A CCH Tagetik Case Study
OCLC is a global nonprofit membership organization that provides library services and research to help reduce library costs and improve access to information. Facing an aging budgeting application and a tangle of Excel spreadsheets, the organization needed a centralized, web-based budgeting and forecasting solution that could scale across multiple countries and time zones, handle six currencies, accommodate a matrix organizational structure, and support regional process variations without risking inaccurate data.
OCLC implemented Tagetik on a Microsoft BI platform (SQL Server financial data mart with an Excel front end) to unify planning, automate integrations, and provide near–real-time visibility. The new system consolidated global and localized planning, automated reconciliations (for example between sales and revenue planning), improved workforce and financial planning, and supported different regional reporting needs while enabling faster, more accurate budgeting and forecasting.
