A CCH Tagetik Case Study
John Hancock/Manulife, a global financial‑services group operating as Manulife in Canada and John Hancock in the U.S., faced fragmented and time‑consuming financial reporting across jurisdictions. Different country processes, heavy reliance on spreadsheets, single‑user document updates and no central data repository made consolidation, consistency and regulatory reporting difficult and error‑prone.
The company selected Tagetik and implemented a centralized disclosure management solution that leveraged its Lawson GL and Essbase systems, standardized templates and enabled concurrent multi‑user updates. As a result John Hancock/Manulife established one source of truth, cut manual data entry to about 5–10%, sped up and standardized reporting (including issuing 2013 statements four days earlier), improved management review and expanded use across legal entities.
