How CCH Tagetik helped Metro AG in the optimization of their financial reports, helping them to reach the business objectives

METRO AG, a listed international wholesale and food retail group with around 150,000 employees and about €37.1 billion in annual turnover, faced limits with its aging SAP-based consolidation system. Diverse pre-systems, frequent corporate-structure changes and low automation meant time-consuming manual work, limited restatement functionality and slow financial reporting, so the finance team sought a more flexible consolidation “core.”

METRO implemented CCH Tagetik with implementation partner Alper & Schetter, migrated heterogeneous data and reworked processes to exploit automation. The new solution accelerated consolidation, eliminated many manual interventions, improved transparency and intercompany reconciliations, enabled simulations and restatements, supports up to 250 concurrent users for reporting, and paves the way for expanded analytics and disclosure management.
