Case Study: Randstad Group achieves IFRS 16 compliance and improved lease-data accuracy with CCH Tagetik

A CCH Tagetik Case Study

Preview of the Randstad Group Case Study

Consolidation, Closing, Collaborative Reporting, IFRS 16 Lease Accounting

Randstad, the world’s second‑largest HR services firm with ~39,000 employees across 150 operating companies in 39 countries and a global lease portfolio of roughly 16,000 contracts, faced the complex task of meeting new IFRS 16 lease accounting standards centrally while ensuring consistent, accurate lease data from decentralized local teams. The company needed a user‑friendly, Excel‑based solution that could handle cars, buildings, equipment and other lease types, produce journal entries for local systems, and minimize disruption to its technology ecosystem.

Randstad selected CCH Tagetik’s IFRS 16 Lease Accounting solution, ran global training and launched the system at the end of 2017 for full retrospective “shadow” reporting. The implementation automated uploads, provided workflow management and audit trails that increased local accountability, enabled handling of exceptional cases through early testing, and delivered improved accuracy and consistency across 39 countries while preparing the company for full compliance by the 2019 deadline.
