Bristol Bay Native Corporation - Customer Case Study

Bristol Bay Native Corporation (BBNC) is a diversified Alaska Native corporation with five lines of business—industrial and government services, petroleum distribution, tourism, and construction—and roughly $1.5 billion in annual revenue across more than 80 entities. BBNC’s finance team faced a time-consuming, error-prone consolidation process: Excel-based budgeting and reporting consumed 50+ hours per month, relied on inconsistent spreadsheets, required manual mapping across five decentralized ERP/accounting systems and charts of accounts, and made intercompany reconciliations difficult as the company continued to grow.

To address this, BBNC implemented Tagetik’s unified Financial Performance Platform in a phased rollout led by the director of financial reporting. The project centralized the chart of accounts, automated ETLs from five ERPs, standardized consolidation and intercompany rules, and used embedded Excel templates with a train‑the‑trainer approach to drive adoption by ~130 users. Results included monthly ETLs that run in minutes, simplified intercompany resolution, automated non‑controlling interest and equity method calculations, a reduction in monthly close from six days to two, and an estimated savings of ~50 hours per month plus easier onboarding of acquisitions and improved cross‑business collaboration.
