Case Study: Aurobindo Pharma achieves automated predictive forecasting and major inventory & customer growth with CCH® Tagetik Supply Chain Planning

A CCH Tagetik Case Study

Preview of the Aurobindo Pharma Case Study

Aurobindo replaced its manual forecasting and planning process with predictive planning

Aurobindo Pharma USA, a rapidly growing generic pharmaceutical manufacturer, found its manual, spreadsheet-based forecasting process overwhelmed by portfolio expansion, SKU churn, and volatile demand driven by distributor consolidation and shifting wholesaler allocations. Monthly, static forecasts couldn’t keep up with frequent order spikes, new product introductions with little history, or the need to spot supply disruptions quickly.

Aurobindo implemented CCH® Tagetik Supply Chain Planning to automate rolling, SKU- and customer-level forecasts, import historical data, apply optimal forecasting methods, and surface exceptions for rapid adjustment; the system also uses comparable-product proxies and streamlined workflows for new SKUs. The change improved forecast quality and responsiveness and drove measurable business gains, including a 99% year-over-year increase in monthly inventory utilization by units, 25% increase by dollars, 77% more new business offers, 37% more new customers, 31% growth in product families, and a 25% rise in total NDCs.
