Alpitour Group, a leading Italian travel operator, faced a highly complex budgeting and forecasting challenge: millions of rows of analytical financial data, six analysis dimensions, and separate systems for forecast and actuals that created technical inefficiencies. The company needed a flexible, user-editable model, faster data-loading and recalculation, simple data-entry for many contributors, and greater control over the end-to-end process.

Alpitour implemented Tagetik across budgeting, forecasting, monthly closing and statutory/management consolidation, going live in five months and migrating all financial data in three days. The unified platform made users independent from IT, cut data-recalculation times from two days to two hours, supported a detailed analytic model and intuitive reporting for ~60 users, and enabled a streamlined, scalable finance architecture (including a Linux server move) with plans to extend BI integration.
