CBTW partnered with one of Europe's largest brick manufacturers, whose major challenge was the high cost of natural gas used in their production process. With rising energy prices and sustainability targets, the client needed to minimize consumption but lacked the data to move beyond suspicions and guesses about where inefficiencies lay. They faced hurdles in analyzing over 700 complex process variables and turning that data into actionable insights.

CBTW built a scalable data and AI platform on Microsoft Azure and SAS Viya, developed through workshops with plant engineers to create testable hypotheses. The solution used simple, trustworthy models validated against process physics and deployed directly into the production machines. This approach resulted in a more than 10% reduction in gas consumption, providing significant cost savings and new data-driven insights into production KPIs for the client.
