GE, a market leader across jet engines, medical imaging, transportation and more, identified the industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) early and uses startups to drive innovation through GE Ventures and GE Digital. As IIoT grew rapidly, tracking companies and trends across a large organization became difficult — teams relied on static spreadsheets, email and offline conversations, which hindered updates, visibility and onboarding.
GE adopted CB Insights’ Collections, cloning the IIoT Expert Collection to create a private, shared market map that both teams could edit. Within two months GE had added 15,283 companies to its Collections, gaining a continuously updated market view and streamlined knowledge sharing to help maintain its IIoT lead.
