Townsville City Council begin proactive approach to asset data with Causeway Horizons

Townsville City Council, one of the largest local government authorities in Queensland, faced challenges in proactively managing its extensive road network data. Under public scrutiny and using an outdated system, the council struggled to utilize its detailed survey data for accurate asset management and transparent stakeholder communication. Causeway Technologies, through its partner Pavement Management Services, implemented its Causeway Horizons solution (rebranded as PARMMS) to address these issues.

The Causeway solution provided a single platform to visualize, explore, and analyze all asset data. This enabled the council to run investment scenarios, optimize long-term maintenance plans, and improve decision-making accuracy by using full data sets instead of averages. The results included more strategic allocation of funds, significant time and cost savings from reduced field validation, and enhanced collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
