Causeway Horizons delivers essential highways data to inform decision making for Telford & Wrekin’s

Telford & Wrekin Council faced a challenge in managing its £1.3bn highways network with an outdated system that limited its asset management capabilities. Their previous "worst first" maintenance approach struggled to provide long-term strategic insights. To address this, they partnered with vendor Causeway Technologies and implemented its Causeway Horizons visualised asset management system.

The solution from Causeway Technologies provided organisation-wide access to essential highways data, enabling a more holistic approach to asset management. The results included moving from a Band One to a Band Two authority in the Government’s Incentive Fund, allowing them to bid for more funding. Causeway Horizons also helped the council combine data sets to identify urgent safety issues, honing a list of 100 potential sites down to 17 for targeted investigation, and enabled more strategic, data-informed spending.
