World Help Raised $175,000 for Somali Refugees

World Help is a faith-based humanitarian organization that responded to the famine in the Horn of Africa by launching the Crisis in the Horn campaign to support Somali refugees. Their stated goal was to raise $120,000 to send 20 containers of food (about 4.8 million meals) and they needed to mobilize volunteers, churches, students, and online supporters to raise awareness and donations quickly.

Using the CauseVox platform plus a coordinated mix of volunteer-driven fundraising pages, social media, videos, email, blog updates and events, World Help empowered supporters to share the campaign widely and stay engaged. The campaign raised over $175,000 through 314 online donations, with strong peer-to-peer participation (34 fundraising pages raising $10+ and an average $915 per page); every $6,000 funded a 40-foot container (about 240,000 meals), enabling substantially more relief than originally targeted.
