Van Cortlandt Park Increased Their Online Fundraising by 44%

Friends of Van Cortlandt Park (FVCP) runs volunteer programs and community events to support New York City’s fourth-largest park. For their 3rd Annual Hike-a-Thon—raising funds for a new Trails Plan and promoting park hiking—FVCP faced low online engagement: the prior year brought just under $9,000 with only a few online donations and no individual fundraising pages, so they needed an easier way for participants to solicit donations digitally.

FVCP adopted CauseVox to give participants personal fundraising pages, provided tip sheets and sample messages, and supplemented outreach with business sponsorships and an online auction. The result: over $13,000 raised (a 44% increase), 33 fundraising pages, 158 online donations (average gift $34), an average of $165 per page and a top page at $930, plus $1,800 from seven local business sponsors—showing clear gains from enabling online peer fundraising.
