The Adult Congenital Heart Association (ACHA) is a nonprofit that supports the 1.4 million adults and children living with congenital heart disease, but with a two-person development team it struggled to raise awareness and consistent online gifts—#GivingTuesday efforts in earlier years yielded only a few hundred dollars. Facing the twin challenges of limited staff and low public awareness of CHD, ACHA needed a simple, shareable platform and a campaign strategy that would motivate donors.
Development Manager Jessica DiGiovanni used CauseVox plus a $10,000 matching grant, focused communications (email and Facebook), real-time CauseVox blog updates, and visible progress/donor listings to create urgency and community. The 24-hour campaign raised $19,332—nearly double the $10,000 goal—and with the match delivered a $29,332 total; the team now replicates the approach for future giving days and plans to build on donor momentum.
