Single Step Plans To Raise $30,000+ Through Peer-to-Peer Fundraising For LGBTI Youth In Bulgaria

Single Step is a Sofia-based nonprofit founded by Ivan Dimov to provide psychological, medical and legal support to LGBTI youth in Bulgaria—a country with virtually no dedicated resources and a weak charitable culture. With a staff of two plus volunteers, the organization faced an urgent challenge: fund a helpline, a physical LGBTI center and public-awareness campaigns while overcoming stigma and limited local fundraising infrastructure. Their goal for the new campaign is $30,000.

To meet that goal Single Step partnered with CauseVox to run a structured peer-to-peer campaign using ambassadors, corporate matching (Benevity), and creative marketing partnerships (Havas, PushPull) and events (DigitalK). A prior friends-and-family effort—12 marathons in 12 weeks—raised $15,000+ to register the organization; the new campaign builds on that momentum with broader outreach, partnerships and community-driven fundraising to achieve the $30,000 target and fund the helpline, center and awareness work.
