RestoreNYC, founded in 2008 to provide holistic care for international survivors of sex trafficking, faced an urgent funding challenge: they needed to raise money quickly to open a long-term safe house in NYC and qualify for an anonymous matching gift. Traditionally reliant on offline events and a growing but mostly local supporter base, the organization set a 40-day online fundraising goal of $50,000 to leverage wider networks and new donors.
Using CauseVox, RestoreNYC launched the "Brick by Brick" campaign, mobilizing supporter-created fundraising pages and a mix of tactics—social media, email, video storytelling, offline events, and community partnerships. They exceeded their $50K target, raised substantial online donations, secured matching funds, and ultimately brought in well over $130,000, enabling them to open the safe house.
