Neverthirst’s WOD For Water - Customer Case Study

Neverthirst’s fundraising arm, WOD for Water, was founded in 2009 by Mark Whitehead and Forrest Walden to fund clean-water projects through community fitness events. Rapid growth from grassroots workouts created a scaling challenge: the team needed a simple, integrated way to manage donations and support hundreds of host gyms without adding burden to local organizers.

They embedded the CauseVox platform into their website, centralizing fundraising, streamlining event setup, and handling PR so gyms can easily host WOD for Water events. The approach enabled rapid national expansion, helping over 300,000 people with dozens to hundreds of wells (82 wells in 2013) and major 2014 fundraising wins such as Birmingham’s $307,000 and Troy’s $59,000—positioning them to scale to thousands of fitness locations.
