A CauseVox Case Study
IDEO.org, the philanthropic arm of design firm IDEO, aims to eradicate poverty through human-centered design projects around the world. Facing the need to fund its Fellows program and wanting a more distinctive, donor-friendly campaign than their usual donate link and newsletters, the team sought a simple platform that could showcase video content and let donors cover processing fees.
They launched a CauseVox page with a video and promoted it through social media, email and mailing lists, plus word of mouth. The campaign raised over $27,000—boosted by a late surge—funding next year’s Fellowship class and leaving IDEO.org with the takeaway to broaden outreach beyond its existing network.
