A CauseVox Case Study
IDEO.org, the philanthropic arm of design firm IDEO, uses human-centered design to improve lives in poor and vulnerable communities. For the 2013–2014 Global Fellowship Program they needed a new way to raise funds specifically for the fellowship cohort, moving beyond traditional donate links, mailings, emails and events.
Cris Valerio launched a CauseVox campaign, drawn to the platform’s simple design, video integration and donor “tipping” to offset fees. The campaign raised over $27,000, funding a seven-person fellowship that produced design solutions across multiple countries, including India, Zambia, Nigeria, DRC, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Kenya, Senegal and Chicago.
